I heard this concept on ‘Stephen Hawking- Master of the Universe’ when they were discussing the Geneva Hadron Collider.
How do they vary in size though? The fact that they do is’t a sufficient answer.

By that I mean, if a regular person went out and played with them, in what sport would the pros humiliate them the most? I would have to say golf and another skill sport, like ping pong. In football people could give a good effort and probable get crushed, but they could still compete. In golf almost any pro could humiliate you and put you completely out of competition. What do you think?

I understand blades are for more skilled players and cavity is a little easier to hit. I just bought a set of irons that is a cavity, but with some blade aspects. Seems to be a hybrid or something. As a beginner I know that I may have a little trouble, but should these be ok for me? I don’t mind a learning curve and rather be practicing with clubs I can grow with.

Recently when I’ve been playing my drive is going maybe 10 feet in the air and staying there, sometimes lower (wormburner if you would). Before my drive was fine, it was flying straight, high and long, now i cant seem to figure it out. What could be the problem? What should I try different?

Breech of Golf Ettiquete?

Jimmy asked:

If you’ve seen me post before, you probably know that i’m a beginner golfer. On sunday, I hit the links with my friend. We had fun and i shot a 13 over on the back 9 which was a good day for me :D.

However when we got back to the clubhouse my mood turned immediately sour. I was confronted by the manager person, who accused my friend and I of defacing property as well as impolite behavior reguarding speed of play.
So here’s what happened:

On the 1st 9 holes, i’ll admit we were going slower than average. I think we finished in 2 1/2 hours or so. there was a group of 4 gentlemen behind us who were obviously belligerent drunk. They caught up to us on the 8th hole. we negated to let them pass, played thru the 9th.

After 9, we went to the clubhouse and bought a couple waters. The group that was behind us proceeded to the 10th. When we got back out there, after about 45 minutes, we caught up to them. We were playing good golf at the time. on the 16th, we found ourselves waiting behind them as they were chatting before teeing off.

We decided we didn’t want to place them in the same predicament, so we just elected to skip the 16th.

Somehow, on the 18th, they caught back up. It was one of my last shots of the day. An approach shot from about 60 yds. I took a practice swing, taking a small divot. The other group, now behind, informed me to replace the divot. I did. My friend and I putted, then headed back to the clubhouse, where the confrontation with the manager occured.

Q1. Were we in the wrong to neglect them the opportunity to play the 9th hole before us?

Q2. Is it ever a breach of etiquette to skip a hole rather than wait for the group ahead?

Q3. Obviously, some jackass from the group behind called the clubhouse, because the manager made a direct statement about me tearing up the fairway on the 18th. So on an approach shot, should you take your practice swing w/o a divot? Was the man in the group behind in the wrong for calling the clubhouse about an error that i fixed?
Clarification: We didn’t spend 45 minutes @ the turn. What i meant was that 45 minutes after the turn, we caught back up to them.
Clarification #2: they did hit at us. They did aim at us. 1 of their drives hit off a hill and drilled my friend in the back of the head. So maybe now you can see why we did take our time.

What is my golf swing flaw?

Filed Under golf swing | Comments Off

Bobby B asked:

I have played golf for many years but seemingly have had a swing flaw. When I’m on the practice range hitting iron shots, the contact point is very close to the hosel (the area where the shaft connects to the club head). Occasionally I’ll shank an iron shot. With the 3 and 4 hybrids, there is no real problem. And with the 5 metal the contact point is very close to dead center most of the time. (I wish I could use the 5 medal swing for all my shots). Somewhere I’m getting outside the swing plane, probably at the top. Finally, sometimes I notice that on the finish to the follow through, all my weight had not transferred to the left side like it should. Do any of you expert golfers have any suggestions as to what I might try on the practice range to correct this annoying swing flaw. Thanks in advance for your help with this.

Depressed & Lonely. asked:

Ok lets start off with some background information, I am 14 almost 15 years old I have played golf for about 10 or 11 years now and I practice golf Monday-Thursday from about 3:00pm-6:00pm and most fridays I only practice from 3:00pm-3:00pm or 4:00pm (because I work) on Saturdays I usually play golf at a golf course or go to the driving range same with Sundays. Ok for the question, what would be a good schedule to follow to most effectivly practice golf (Example-Monday-Thursday chipping and Friday-Sunday driving) one more thing I forgot to mention is that I live in a pretty bunched up neighborhood so I don’t want to risk hitting real golf-balls with anything but 7 iron- wedges. Usually I use the larger clubs with plastic golf balls, however, those don’t give a good feedback on the swing. I also hit the plastic golf balls rather long with my driver around 100-150 yards. So please help me out I really would like to become a better player and become part of the PGA Tour.
Thanks,
TWF.
