Andrew S asked:

I have a terrible problem of rolling the club face open at the start of
my backswing. Please, help me solve this problem that results in
slice shots and other poorly struck shots.

Determine your swing plane. Bring that club back along that line. When you reach the top and have completed your back swing with the club head pointing to the target, drop the arms and the shoulder inside that swing plane and you will eliminate most of the poor shots and slices. See Freddie Couples’ illustration in the latest ” Golf Digest “

close you clubhead before you swing.
