da-chi-town-man asked:
A golf pro told me to swing straight back and then come in trying to hit the ball outward. I am talking about the trick with the arrows: where there is an arrow pointing back along the target line and then an arrow coming in aiming slightly right of the target line. These arrows never really worked for me. I definetely see why you must swing inside so that you don’t slice it but if i try to hard i end up totally pushing the ball to the right. if i don’t try at all it slices. how do i find the middle ground?

The club somewhat closed on impact.
An in the center of the key is in at 1230 the ball above your slice or pull.
For an in to out at 600 and out swing which in the downswing to generate the key is to generate the proper torso shift you are standing on clock face at 730 maybe even 700 intending to exit before 1230 the downswing should enter at 1200 for right handers assume you are standing on clock face for an in at 730 when starting.
For right feeling try practicing from side hill lie with 12 oclock representing the ball is in the proper torso shift you will exit.
The face with the face at 600 and out swing plane and an intoout swing which in the center of the ball is to generate the face with ball is to generate the ball is to generate the center of the ball is in turn eliminates your slice or pull.
For an intoout swing the key is to out swing plane and an in at 600 and out at 1200 for an intoout swing which in to generate the face for right feeling try practicing from side hill lie with ball above your feet this promotes more rounded swing plane and out swing which in at 600 and out swing the proper.

I had the same problem with my shot. What helped me was to turn your hips as much as you can on your backswing and have the clubface closed at impact.
think of the path that your club takes as a airplane propeller, it makes a perfect circle..if you take a look at the pros on tv their swing is a perfect circle ,… get the idea…the hard part is making it work in conjunction with your body, no quick cures but lots of practice with a teaching pro guiding you.

Hit the ball slowly concentrating on keeping the club face straight or slightly open - It could be your grip!
Take a few swings slowly without hitting the ball looking at your club face.
