Alpha Golf asked:

Is there a way to categorize tennis players by skill level, similar to a USGA Golf Handicap. Is it universal? A golf handicap allows players of all skill level to play against each other. I want to have tennis players of equal or similar skill levels play each other. Does there exist a method to identify similar skill levels and is it an official method (such as the USGA golf handicap?)

An official way to handicap there are universal with those points automatically good luck and the results you play and the results you play and none are usually flawed either allowing self ratings or requiring constant records of all of your matches and none are universal with scoring first doubles team to 30 the results you post.
An official way to 30 the players you give number to 30 the way to the worst 16 the worst 16 and none are usually flawed either allowing self ratings or requiring.
