Which golf coach should I choose?

Okay, I am a freshman, and this fall I played on our girls golf team. I am not a par golfer, but I did play #1 for varsity the whole year and beat the school record. I shoot on average an 85. I want to choose a coach who will get me to be a par golfer by the end of my high school career. I learn really quickly. So anyways, I have narrowed it down to these to coaches, “Mel” and “Dan”. My personality and Mel’s really click, and he has great software that has some really cool features including showing pros swings and changing them to left-handed, (I’m left-handed). So anyways, Mel gave me a lesson and my swing already looks a ton better. Now moving to Dan, who I’m not quite sure about. He has coached some unbelievable golfers, but he has also coached a girl for 3 years who I played and beat. When I had a lesson, he was very sure of himself, and almost seemed to brag. I felt really intimidated and he basically told me it was his way or the highway. But he is a good coach..
I honestly can’t decide. Both are awesome teachers, and Dan tells me that all of the pros swing like he is going to teach me. Dan also has good software, but it doesn’t show pros swings left-hands. But he also said that I have a bad swing and if he doesn’t coach me then I am not going to be a good golfer. He also tells me that for the first 3 mos. We wont be working with a club… which could be looked at as good or bad. I feel in a way that Dan is trying to force me to go with him, and I felt really uncomfortable. Mel on the other hand was very open and understood that I was still making a decision. I have heard great things about both of them, but are coaches supposed to tell you that you should have started golf earlier and that you have an almost hopeless swing? Thanks for all the help..
yes, I would like to try for a scholarship in golf for college
by the way, both have connections for college. Mel probably has more connections and has already informed me of the tournaments I will need to participate in this spring and summer
lol, no, I am not signing a contract. I’m just trying to find someone who I can stick with through my high school career and will help me to get a (hopefully) division 1 scholarship
I thought so, lol

You could always try a coach and switch after a few lessons if you don’t feel like you’re making progress or aren’t comfortable. You’re young and have some time to find your coach. You could tell them both that you aren’t sure who to go with and see what they say. I bet Mel is cool with you trying them both out while Dan might not be receptive to you trying them both out.

So, you could try Dan first and if he’s not your type switch to Mel.
