The Controversial Question Man asked:
Hey, im trying to better my putting…i have heard two differant putting strokes…the first was from Gary McCord…he described that the putter should be straight on back swing and on impact and follow through…and a way to practice was by keeping it straight to a piece of wood on the ground…
and the second was from Dave Maga where he says the putter should be on an arc like a mini golf swing…where you swing back on an arc and on impact…which is correct???

how to master the lag in a golf swing?

Is this ok for a golf swing thought?

I go golfing with my dad on weekends and when we go he teaches me becausevhe played his whole life. He is trying to make “turn my back on the target and let my arms come down” be my swing thought. He says this is good because my body is too fast meaning my body goes before my hands, but when i went to a golf pro for a lesson he told me that wasnt a good swing thought. My dad always blames a bad shot on when i dont do that. Who should i beleive my dad or the pro?
The pro didn’t give me a swing thought. Also are there any good swing thoughts that you could recommend?
